0 AYE L LIN G-HOUSE DESTR OYED. Press Association. AYELLINGTON, Feb. 23. Mr. D. O’Donnell’s seven-roomed residence at Kilbiruie was destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon. Tho fire spread to an adjacent house, recently occupied by Mrs. Gmilestone, but the brigade succeeded in extinguishing the blaze before the second building was totally destroyed. The fire was caused through the upsetting of a kerosene stove, upon which beeswax and turpentine were being melted in a pot. Mr. O’Donnell’s house was in-siu-ed in tlie Commercial Union for £<oo, and tho contents, about half of which were destroyed, were insured in the South British for £350. Mrs Girdlestone’ house was insured in the r U " oonn )or t " 500 and the furniture for £3OO.
