A number of Australians drived yesterday to view the scußiiig championship race. They express pleasure at the condition oi Iressicler, who looks remarkably well. The Newcastle man did a fast- hard row of 21 miles. 4n the afternoon AVclih went a spin over the full course in good time, rowing the first mile very fast. He was accompanied oyer the" mile by Green, who is competing for the amateur championship it Napier. AYebb gave him two iengths start and beat him by a like distance. TRAINING OPERATIONS. Interest- in the sculling championship to he decided on Tuesday is growing daily, and a large number of visitors are in town.
Webli did a solid four miles this morning, and again went over tlio course in the afternoon. His health continues good, and liis work is eminently satisfactory to liis trainer. To-morrow morning ho will not go out on tlio river, but will indulge hi hill-climbing. Tresiddor covered two miles this morning, and in tho afternoon lie indulged in one or two sprints. A party of Australians followed him in u launch this morning.
