GOVERNMENT AVILL ASSIST THE SUITER EPS.
Press Association. AUCKLAND, Feb. 21. In referring to the bush and other fires': in liis speech at the social given to Mr. La wry. M.P.. at Newmarket to-night, the Premier said that the Government proposed to give some practical assistance to the settlers who had suffered losses through these fires. He was communicatin''' with his colleagues, and he honed that by to-morrow he would be able to indicate the full direction that the Government proposed to go in the way of affording relief to a deservimr body of people who worked earl- and late in carrying on this important part of the work of the country
