KANAKANAIA ESTATE.
BALLOT FOR SECTIONS
A large crowd gathered at the Land Board office yesterday, when a ballot for sections in the ‘Kanakanaia estate was held. Messrs J. W. Bright and Clare acted as scrutineers. Two marbles were drawn to obviate a second ballot if the first successful applicant did not accept the section, but in every case the first draw was accepted. The ballot result-ed as follows :—• Section 1, 974 acres (3 abdications) —Sydney Newman. Section 2, 967 acres (3 annlications) —Frederick A. Shanks. Section 3, .725 acres (9 annlications) —Mary M. Graves. Section 4. 745 acres (3 abdications) —Emmit M. A. O’Sullivan. Section 5, 956 acres (4 ariidieations) —Jasper S. Hint-on. Section 6, 244 acres (2 annlications) —Okas. Hindrup.
