Further hearing was given tho case Arthur Herbert 11 alien (Mr Finn) v. Frances Stephens (Mr Stock), in which the defendant objected to charges made by plaintiff for medical attendance. The evidence of plaintiff had been taken at the previous hearing. Frances Stephens, Whalaiutu, stated that on May loth last she met witli an accident. She got advice from .Dr iSclniniachcr at that time. About a fortnight later plaintiff visited her first. Never specially asked plaintiff to come to sop her. He visited her four or five times. At each visit he told her lie would lie in Whatiitntu on certain dates and would call and see her.—By M r Finn : On the first occasion plaintiff visited her he was not specially asked. .Her son had been told plaintiff would he in Whatatutu on a certain date, and witness said plaintiff could visit her. William Evans, waggoner, Whataiutu, said that on instructions from Mrs Stephens he visited plaintiff and asked if" plasters placed on her side could he taken oil'. Plaintiff offered to visit defendant and take them off. Told plaintiff defendant did not desire him to visit her on that occasion. . Tho S.M. said plaintiff charged £3 3s .for his first visit and £1 11s Gel for each subsequent visit, and these charges, considering tho distance travelled, seemed reasonable. It also seorned right and proper that a medical man should continue to visit a patient until recovery, unless special instructions were given to tho contrary. Judgment would he for plaintiff for £5 os with costs £2 Is. J UDGMENT SUMMONS. The case Clayton and Nisbott (Mr Blair) v. Hau "Kairio was dismissed as from the judgment debtor’s evidence it did not appear that he had means of paying. _ JUDGMENTS BY DEFAULT. Judgment by default was given in tho following cases :— Oonyors Pencil (Mr T. Alston Coleman) v. Pineha JXaru, £29. IDs 6d, costs £3 Os; Hendrick lleidorn (Mr Blair) v. John Greaves, £8 4s, costs £1 18s Gd; Francis 4t. Harris (Mr Blair) v: John McDonald, £o 18s, costs £1 los Bd; Edward G. A. Kcyuokls (Mr Stock) v. Catherine Godye, £3 10s, costs ISs; William D. S. MacDonald (Mr F W r . Nolan) v. H. Denton, £lO costs £1 10s Gd. drunkenness. John Campbell, once previously convicted within six months, was lined £l, with costs 2s, in default four days’ imprisonment.
