THE OTIRA TUNNEL.

COMMENCEMENT TO BE CELEBRATED. GREYMOUTH, Feb. IS. A large and representative meeting of delegates from the coast- met this afternoon, and decided to celebrate the starting of the Otira tunnel liv a fitting ceremony at Otira. The Premier and the Hon. the Minister of Marine have notified their intention of being .present, also about 40 representative men from Christchurch. The date will be fixed so as to suit the Premier, but hope as expressed that- it will not bo later than the middle of March. It is likelv that the affair will he a great success.
