(Special to Times). AVAIPIRO, Dec 20. Tho AA’aiupu County Council met on Dec 18. P'jgesont:—Councillors K. S. Williams (Chairman), Sherwood, Murphy, Cottorill, T. S. AVilliams. Correspondence was dealt with as follows: From tho Judge of tho Native land Court assessing the compensation fixed for land taken at "Manga hauni.—Received. From tho Minister of Lands allowing the procedure of tho Tuakau loan including small grazing runs.—Received. From Richardson and Blair and AV. T. Johnson asking for extension of time for tendering ro aerial ropeway.—Resolved to extend the time for receiving tenders to 24th March, 1908. From Kinross AA’hito, Napier requesting that tlie inland track be attended to.—Resolved'to spend up to £IOO in repairs. From: Air. Kemp, Tuparoa, ro •river cutting at Rotokautu'ku.-—Ten pounds to be granted for the purpose. From the manager of ’lie Accident ilnsurance Company, re tho Councils insurance. : A resolution was passed thanking ;Alr. A. T. Ngata, AI. H. R., for liis assistance in connection with tho Harbor Bill, and in obtaining grants. Two water-trouglis arc to he erected on Hikmvai road, the (former resolution to be adhered to. ; From tho Co-operative Company, ro death of a horse. —Burial - fee- to be paid. From tho Inspector of Factories 're closing shops. Ip the county.— Received. , ' : Councillor Murphyi proposed a special rate of l-10d in tho pound.
