BUSINESS NOTES.

Messrs' Nicliolls and Griffiths have a special! advertisement in this issue drawing attention to a shipment of English leather goods, recently received, suitable for Christmas presents. Among the shipment are dressing cases, ladies’ work boxes, military lia-ir brushes, ladies’ .handbags, and purees of all kinds. The firm report having made a very advantageous purchase of the line, and intend to sell" at very low prices. Messrs H. Anderson and Son announce by advertisement in to-day’s supplement that they have been appointed district- agents for Centaur bicycles. The firm also make a specialty of made-to-order h icy dies. In to-day’s supplement Mr. C. TDavies draws attention to his stock of erockeryware suitable for Christmas and wedding presents. Mr. W. L. Clayton has an advertisement in. to-day’s supplement offering for sale 3200 acres of sheep 1 country. A new advertisement is inserted in this issue by Messrs F. Hall and Sons, painters and plumbers. A man to make himself generally luseful on a farm is advertised for. At 11 a.m. to-day Messis F. S. Malcolm and Co. will hold their usual sale of poultry .and produce. A sale of furniture will follow.

The Melbourne Cash have an advertisement in this issue inviting citizens to make an inspection of their show of Christmas goods. Board and residence near town for two gentlemen _is advertised to let, _ A Savings Bank book cover, which has been lost, is advertised for. Messrs J. Peckover and Co. advertise for a variety of servants.

' A girl for an office is wanted. A lost sheep dog is advertised for. Messrs Smith Bros., H. Martin and D. Barry announce that in future they will mako a charge on storekeepers for bottles supplied. Two young girls to be trained as domestics are wanted.

Tenders close to-day with Mr. P. H. Graham for the ‘ erection of a sterilising room at tlio Hospital. At 11 a.m. on Tuesday next Messrs F. S. Malcolm and Co. will hold a special Christmas sale of poultry, fruit, and produce. A sale of furniture will follow.
