[To the Editor.] Sir.—Would you kindly, in explanation of your statement in thismorniug’s paper re three cases of typhoid fever now in our hospital state the places whence the patients came. No 1 came from Mangatu, No. 2 case is that of a young man who was landed sick from one of the steamers, No. 3 •case came from Stout Street near blio Roebuck Road Bridge. The only case from the borough is from a locality which is so near the outside of the borough that the district would in ill likelihood not be included in the new drainage system when it is undertaken. Because the Hospital is in the Borough do not put down all eases in the institution as arising within the borough.—l am etc., .T. TOWNLEY.
