Press Association. AUCKLAND, Oct. 27. A six-roomed house at Newmarket, owned and occupied by 'Richard and Joseph Mason, was destroyed by fire yesterday morning. The fire commenced in a washhouse which had not been used for a week. When the brigade arrived the residence was enveloped. in flames. Only the front- is now left. The house was insured for £3OO in Now Zealand office, and the furniture for £250 in the samo office. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 27. A ten-roomed house in Rollestonstreet, Linwood, owned and occupied by Mr. J. C. Cameron, foreman of tiie City Council staff, was partially destroyed "by fire early yesterday evening.
