A TIRED HOUSE.
Special to Times. WELLINGTON, Sept. 27. Members generally are suffering a recovery after Dominion Day, and only a few in a very tired House are wrestling with the final clanjes of the Land Tax Bill. Tho Premier, who had a very busy day yesterday, admits that he is rather played out to-night, and nearly everyone will be glad when tho sitting is over. Several members aro absent at their homos, and others aro not able to attend owing to their being laid aside with influenza. As a matter of fact, if the Speaker had done his duty strictly to-day there would have been no sitting of the House. The Standing Orders provide that after prayers the Speaker shall count tho House, and if there is. not a quorum present tlie House shall adjourn. To-day, after prayers had been read, only nineteen members were present-, or one less than a quorum.
