At a public meeting held in the Town Hall, under the auspices of the Marlborough Laud and Railway League, speeches were made by the president and other membors, also premittent settlors, in favor of a

P.'t'dy completion of the railway to Yard, and the construction of tin cue wharf at Picton. Resolutions nhodving these proposals were car ied, and it was decided to ask tilt League to organise a deputation from teal bodies to interview the Prime Minister and urge the necessity of h } construction of the East Coast !nj and a now wharf at Picton. The minion of speakers generally was against the co-operative system and in nvor of letting the work by contract.
