DECREASE OF POPULATION,

The population of Thames Borough is 5750, a decrease of 265, p utially accounted for by the departure of a goodly number of mm to tho now gumfidds in the northern portion of tha peninsula. The potato orops of tbo naiivos have suffered, and are likely to be short, Kumetas are not affected, and it is believed there will be a good crop.
