CHASE AFTER THIEVES.
CONSTABLE THREATENED WITH OCND a REVOLVER.
(Pot Pres* Awoelatlon.) Auckland, last night. A sensational chase after ‘wosuspected thieves took place to-day. S fwagg followed in a cab, but lost s, B h * , tb a soon after. This house was robbed,-sad iewellery and other articles taken. In the meantime other constables were sent out in pursuit on horseback, and came up i with the men, but after presen ing a ievolver at him they escaped into the scrubi. Later in the day Jehu Francis O'Keefe was captured while playing cards in a 1 hotel.
