ATTEMPT TO ESCAPE BY FORCE
TWO PRISONERS KILLED.

Shanghai, May 5. Fifty long soDtonoe prisoners in the municipal gaol of Shanghai, armed with tools and swords, attempted to esoape. They wounded Blounereasset, the governor of the gaol, and twj Indian warders, Tbo governor shot the noted brigand Vayaomao dead. Another Chinaman was killed and several wounded.
Tho trouble was ovoDtually quelled.
