’(Per. Press Association.> ' Christchurch, last night. The reduction in freight to London has evidently caused local holders of wheat to offer more freely and to expeot higher prices, but as buyers are not in a position to make any advance on late rates tbere 1 IS vory little business. The offerings are being made principally by merchants, very little being offered by growers. The London market at tbe present time is nok favorable to shippers, and they are not therefore adding to the stocks they now hold. There is only a small amount of business being done in oats to moot looaj requirements. Tho cbaDgo in tbe wheaiS here will probably hasten tho market for chaff. Peas and beans aro meeting with more enquiries tor shipment, but prices ore unaltered. Potatoes show dq change.
