Thoro is groat interest in tho trial of Arthur Lynch, who was elected M.P. for Galway at the general elections, on a charge of high treason. The trial opened to-day. Tho Court ovor-ruled a motion by Mr H. E. Avory, for the defence, to quash the indictment on the ground that it disclosed no offence.

Lynch pleaded not guilty, alleging he was a naturalised citizen of the Transvaal Republic.
