By Telegraph —Press Association. Christchurch, last night. The tournament of the New Zealand Bowling Association opened to-day. The weather was splendid. Following were the results in the rink tournament (first round) : Canterbury 21 heat Roslyn 15, Roslyn 20 beat Lawrence 14, Canterbury 86 beat Invercargill 15, Gore 83 beat Sydenham 10, Victoria 31 beat Phoenix 21, Green Island 24 beat Oamaru 20, Timaru 19 beat Christchurch 15, Canterbury 35 heat Sout-hbridge 9, Dunedin 23 beat Ashburton 12, Wellington 19 beat Ashburton 15, Christchurch 26 beat Kaituna 11, Dunedin 18 beat Phoenix 16, Christchurch 24 beat Canterbury 12, Dunedin 23 beat Invercargill 18, Invercargill 22 beat Kaituna 16. Later.—The New Zealand Bowling Association's annual tournament was opened to-day with the rink match, for which thirty-four rinks entered.
