Soon after tho Assoinbly mot, tho Premier, who had previously announced thpt ho had accepted all responsibility in regard to the Attornoy-Genoral's action in connection with Friodtnan, tabled papers concerning tho ease. Mr Carruthera thereupon raovod that tho action of the Government in the Friedman easo is a breach of the principles underlying 'the systom of trial by jury. On the motion of tho Premier, tho House immediately adjourned.
