Presentation to Mr Spurrell.

A CEREMONY highly creditable to both donors and recipient took place at the break-up for the holidays of the Ormond school on Wednesday afternoon, when to the surpriso and gratification of Air Spurrell ho was presented by Alice Parsons, on behalf of herself and a largonumber of fellow scholars in the higherstandards, with the subjoined address,accompanied with a silver-topped riding, whip and a handsomo silver-mounted pipe. Air Spurrell expressed his verygrateful thanks to the children for such valuable and unexpected tokens of their esteem, and after giving them some good advice hoped they would diligently keep up the good work to which they referred in their kind address, and said ho would always be glad to hear that his labor amongst them had not been in vain. The> following is the address “ Ormond, 18th Dec., 1901. W. A. Spurrell Esq., Headmaster, Ormond School. Dear Sir, —We, the undersigned pupils attending the Ormond school, do respectfully request you to accept from us these small tokens showing our esteem and appreciation of your valuable servicesduring your term of office as master of the Ormond school. We deeply re-ret that you are about to leave us, bu° wesincerely trust at some future date to hear ot your further success as a schoolmaster in some other district, where our loss will be some other children’s gain.
