By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, last nzght. A fire occurred shortly before seven this -normo" in a building on Taupo Quay , owned by Mrs Donald Boss, and occupied hv Mr H. T. Johns, budder. The builct in- was gutted, but the contents were saved. The Herald publishing room was destroyed, and the machine room was only saved by a brick wall. A fishmonger who lives in an adjoining building had lsn T c^ destroyed, and forty fowls roasted The stables belonging to Thomson, Lewis, and Co. and Tucker Bros., were torched but the horses were uninjured. The msur ance on the building gutted is £3OO, m tho Commercial Union. The other surances -aro not available.
