The match England v. Now South Wales was resumed to-day, the New South Wales team continuing their innings. Tho weather was fine. It was warm in the morning, but a cool breeze set in. There was an attendance of ten thousand

spectators. There was a poor display of batting until the partnership of Noble and Poidevin was made.

Braund's leg-breaks seemed to paralyse the batsmen. Kelly made great efforts to ! get him to log. but without avail. Howell and Kelly scored but slowly. | the latter taking an ' hour and three- ' quarters to compile his score of 25. Trumper was in two minds about a ball , from Braund’, and as a result lost his wicket, while Hopkins, going out at one. skied it to Tyldesley in the outfield. Duff was brilliautly caught by Braund, low down, off Braund’s own bowling. Noblo and Foidevin beat Braund by stepping out at him. and scored quickly. Several changes of bowling were tried, but failed to separate the pair up to the tea adjournment. On resuming, both batsmen reached half a century within a few minutes of each other. Then both hit out with vigor, sending the score along rapidly. . Gunn and Barnes helped the score, the 1 former giving six no-bullsin six overs, and Barnes a couple. Seven bowlers tried to effect a severance. Barnes ultimately bowled Noble, whogaveouc chance. The partnership added 159. Foidevin continued to play magnificently. hitting the fence time and again. He scored thirteen in one over off Braund. Iredalc was also playiug freely.
