Haii-Jones with reference to the statement from Auckland that it is rumored a large number of men will be discharged from the North Island Trunk Line, telegraphs that there is no foundation for tho rumor. Men who have finished contracts will be dispensed with until others are arranged, and as many men are wanted for shearing, work is only being pushed on in sections which can bo opened shortly. Severe! men have been discharged on account of trafficking in liquor.
