THE ENGLISHMEN LEADING BY 33. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, Nov. 16. The match between Maclaren s English team of cricketers and tne eleven representing Victoria was resumed to-day, when the Victorians completed their first innings. Their total score was 133, thus leaving them 33 behind the Englishmen, whose first innings had closed for 166. The following scores were made :

Tho following is tho bowling analysis for the first innings of Victoria : Barnes, five for 61. Blythe, three for 37. Braund, two for 26. Barnes bowled one no-ball. The Englishmen then went in for their second innings, the scores being as follows: —

Total for one wicket ... 107 The match was continued in fine weather. The attendance was large. The wicket, after being rolled, was good. Graham played with characteristic freedom, and showed some pretty cricket. When McLeod had scored ten he was clean bowled by Barnes with a no-ball. JIo took over an hour to put his score of 09 together. The hatting of the Victorians was, on the whole, not of the usual standard.

The features of the play were tho excellent fielding of the Englishmen and the consistently good work of the bowlers. Tho visitors made a good start in their second innings. McUnhey's batting was especially attractive. Both iic ami Hayward were let off in the field.

Melbourne, Nov. IS. There is much dissatisfaction in cricket circles at the New South Wales Association refusing Maclaren’s request to be allowed to appoint an umpire. It is reported that, rather than submit to such arbitrary dictation, the Melbourne Club will cancel the Englishmen's match, beginning ut Sydney on Friday.
