Agricultural Shows.
By Telegraph—Press Association, l Palmerston North, last night. r The weather for the second day of the . Manawatu show was tine. Light showers fell early this morning, but cleared off ‘ during the forenoon. The attendance ; was large, although “ People’s Day ” is I to-morrow. There is a very fine show of vehicles, implements and machinery, and excellent displays in the permanent stands. In fat sheep Nelson Bros, and Thomson Bros, were the most successful exhibitors. In thoroughbreds E. Walker’s Musketry took the championship, and E. Woods secured the championship in thoroughbred mares. J. Ivyle won the champion- I ship in Ayrshire bulls, and S. W. Luxford in Ayrshire cows. j Titnaru, last night. The second day of the Timaru show was held to-dav, and there was a large attendance, but a bitterly cold wind was blowing, making matters very unpleasant. I Horses, light and draught, were a feature j of the shovy. The imported horse Clyde- I bank took first and champion in draughts. I Mr I). Thync’s Experience got first in j carriage horses. Mr .J. W. Fre.eman’g , Conqueror was awarded first and champion in thoroughbreds, j '
