THE CANAL TREATY
AN INDICATION OF AMEEICAN POLICY. By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright Washington, Nov. 11. Senator Lodge, speaking at Washinging, said that tne Senate would be certain to ratify tho new Anglo-American Canal treaty. America must prevent the entrance of any European power in tho American Hemisphere, either by the acquisition of territory or the establishment of forts and naval stations. It is believed that the reference is aimed at Germany, and it is understood that the speech is a forecast of Roosevelt’s policy.
