Invercargill, last night. The live-year-old daughter of Mr Henry Cross was killed this afternoon at the Bluff. The train from town was nearing the station when the child started to cross the rails to her father, who was working on the beach side. He noticed her coming and called to her. The driver also blew tiie whistic. But the ’little tiling was struck by the corner of the buffer beam, the base of the skull being fractured, and the child died soon after.
