Messrs McNab, Cairns, and Flood, three employees of the Clyde Engineering Works, were driving a buggy from the bank at Granville, where they had drawn over £2OOO to pay the fortnightly wages at the works. They had almost reached their destination, when a man rode up aud ordered them to bail up. They drove on. The man followed, and fired a revolver, shooting McNab through the fleshy part of the arm. Continuing the pursuit lie fired several more shots, oue taking effect on the horse’s neck, but without disabling him. The lire was returned from the buggy. The man eventually gave up the chase, and galloped away. He fired a shot at a woman during his flight, narrowly missing her. The police are out trying to track the highwayman.
