New Opera House.

(To the Editor of the Times ) Sir,— Following up the remarks of Mr Pollard re the poor stage and seating accommodation offered by our Gisborne theatres, would it not be practicable, seeing that this is an age of company dotations. for a syndicate to acquire the McFarlane Hall property, and alter and enlarge the hall so as to bring it on up-to-date lines: at any rate so that reasonable staff and seating accommodation would be afforded visiting companies of the Toliard magnitude '? No doubt the present proprietors could be induced to float it into a company, and I daresay Mr Pollard, seeing the phenomenal business he has done during the week, would take up a good number of shares to help the venture along.—l am. etc., Playgoer.
