WAGES ON RAILWAY WORKS.

(To the Editor ol the Times ) Sir,—We railway hands on tne GisborneKaraka line wish to know why we don’t receive our wages monthly like other Government employes. As a month is quite long enough for a working man to wait for his money, we should be paid punctually instead of waiting from day to day somebody’s pleasure. Now this is holiday week, and having a day or two off we, like others, want to take our wives and families to the Show, but will be unable to do so, althougu our wages are overdue. Whoever is responsible for this kind of thing should have some consideration for others. —I am, etc., Grafter.
