Five hundred Doers, under several commandants, are advancing south via the Greatberg Valley, looting and recruiting. Some have reached Saldana Bay, and others Hopeful South, a town some miles inland from the bay. The British are pressing them hard.

FIGHTING AT ITQUETBERG. FIVE BRITISH KILLED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, Oct. 18. Fighting occurred at Twenty-four Streams and Piquetborg districts on the 10th. Five British wero killed, including a captain of the Kith Lancers. A later message states that the raiders attacked the district troops at Piquetberg.
Liout.-Colonel Wyndhnm sent two I squadrons of the Lancers to assist, compelling the Boers to retire with live casualties.
