George Hamilton, in a letter to (Mr Baird, member of the House of Commons for Central Glasgow, explaining the reasons why the India:; Government placed several D,rge ardors for locomotives in Germany, expressed the hope that British (inns would expand their powers of production. A firm in Hanover tendered 25 per cent, lower, and offered to deliver in half the time compared with the tenders of British firms.
