it is rumored that when the City Council meets to-night some iig it will he let into tile reasons wiiicu prompted tilt Minister for Agriculture to veto the Couneii's selection of a site for the Municipal abattoirs, alter first giving thorn a free hand in the matter. A numher of retail butchers feel strongly on the subject but .ire waiting the decision of the Council before taking further action, it the Council is compelled to tind another
site it means considerable expense in providing lor the treatment of offal which couid have been disposed of at the manure works adjacent to the site originally selected.
