Afghanistan's New Ameer

Lord Cursor, has transmitted to the new Ameer King Edward's condolences with regard to the loss of his father, as well as the King's good wishes to the new ruler. THE CROWNING OF 11ABIDULLAU. The newspaper Pioneer's Gabul correspondent states that the Ameer, after a paralytic stroke, summoned his family and notables to his bedside on September 2Sth, and asked them to make a suggestion as to his successor. They nominated Ilabidtiilah. and the Ameer then presented him with his sword ar ’ oelt, precious stones, and his will, containing instructions how to govern. He ordered the younger sons to place the crown on Habidullah's head. The Ameer died on October Ist. but his i death was not announced until the 3rd. ! so its to enable Habiduilah to arrange a peaceful accession.
