By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Saturday. The fitting machine and pattern department ef the Masefield foundry was gutted by fire to-day. The premises were insured in the New Zealand Ofiico for JMOOO, of which Jk'2ooo covers the portion affected. Tito total risk is re insured down to XIDOO. The damage is about' .£IOOO.
Wellington, Saturday. Tho Baptist Union have received advice that tho Rev. J. G. Groonliough, President of the Free Church Council of Britain and Ireland, who comes to New Zealand for the purpose of taking part in the Baptists’ Jubilee, will reach Auckland on tho 19th inst.
By the Paparoa, whicK arrived from Home this morning, there came for the Government two Ayrshire bulls, bought from Mr John Hutchinson, of Ayr, two shorthorn heifers from Mr S." Hills, of Lichfield, and one shorthorn heifer from Mr T. Webbs, of Lichfield. Mr S. Burton, ono of the newly-appointed veterinary surgeons, also came by the vessel.
Timaru, Saturday. The Farmers' Co-operativo Association to-day confirmed a resolution increasing the nominal capital from £ 70,000 to 11100,000. The shares (£5) will be issued at a premium of 7s 6d.
