NEW ZEALAND PRODUCE,

GOOD MARKET FOR BUTTER AND CHEESE.

By Telegraph—Press Association.

Wellington, last night. Air Cameron, Inspector of New Zealand Produce in London, in a report dated August 80th, says that there is every likelihood that butter and cheese from tho colony will have a good market during the coming season, especially butter, with large (.demand at fair prices for both products. The season at Home has been rather unfavorable for the production of dairy produce, and there has been a deficiency in the market of both butter and cheese. Though Russia has been sending greatly increased supplies, he does not think this will have any serious effect in lowering the demand for New Zealand butter, as it- will be a considerable time before the Russian article can compete with New Zealand for quality and reliability. It is, however, satisfactory to note that New Zealand producers have taken serious notice of Russian dairy development, and if the improve- | ment this season in levelling up the j quality of New Zealand butter is as i marked as last year the result should thoroughly establish its good reputation, j Cheese is capable of much improvement in packing. Factories should make half their output white and half colored. To avoid smashing, butter-boxes must not be made of lighter material than in the past.
