DAIRY FACTORY

Tiuiant, last night. At the first general meeting of shareholders of the South Canterbury Dairy Factory Company, which has been registered, permanent directors were elected. The provisional directors reported that 222 shares had been allotted, and 400 more had been applied for. A site for a central factory in Tinmru has been purchased at X'oOO, and a factory manager emumed. The Chairman, Dir A. C. Thompson, urged that strenuous efforts be made to make a start at an early date. He suggested that in the meantime, if creameries were erectc-d, cream could be sold to the Oamaru factory till their own was ready.
FARMERS' UNION
Dir Glass, Organising Secretary of the Farmers’ Union, is now in this district, working south.
