SPORTING.

THAI NINE NOTES,

By Telegraph—Dress Association —Copyright

Sydney, Sept. to.

Hongkong is an unlikely starter for the Derby. The course proper at Randwick is in excellent condition. In the final flutters for the big events, Caledonia ran

away from Duke of Kent in a mile, finishing in I.IS. Kenley was content with six furlongs, done in a most convincing fashion in 1.21. Cretonne covered a mile in 1.-D.t, the first four furlongs occupying I'.Usees. He tired towards the finish. Abingtou again had the honors of the morning. With assistance, he cut off the Epsom distance in 1.-Hi. the first half occupying fiOJ seconds. Ho finished well. Sequence, ridden out, registered a mile in l.lliV. Hautvillers administered a handsomo beating to Paul Dry over a mile in 1.-18. iiruntwood made similar time against Nowry. Australian Colors had April Fool in trouble right to the end of a mile, traversed in 1.-Uil. Allinga easily negotiated live furlongs iu I.7Sir Leonard, with plenty to spare, did a round in 2.35. San Fran had more to say than Graspan in a ding-dong set-to over nine furlongs, run in 2.7.
