The Houso met at 2.30 p.m. The financial debato was continued by Messrs Bennett and IV. Eraser. Tho lion. Mr Hall-Jones, who also spoke, said that tho labor legislation ot the presont Government had not been necessitated by tho ordinary employer, but by the action of some employers who did not tako precautions to preserve tho health and life of their employees. Ho ventured to predict that when the Factories and other Bills came before the House there would not bo half-a-dozen members who would vote against their second readings. The debate was interrupted by the 5.30 adjournment.
