Mr Barton, in reply to a question, made a statement in reforeneo to the trouble with the Victorian Parliament in regard to housing the Federal Parliament. Negotiations with the State Parliament with reference to the occupancy of Parliament llouso had come to a standstill. Tho matter woukl bo dealt with at a Cabinet meeting. Members complainod of tho inhospitably of Victorians, and urged that the present position of affairs was an indignity to the Federal Parliament. Somo members advocated tho erection of temporary buildings ; and ono that Mr Barton should shift them over to Sydney at once.
