Mr AV. J. Frankham, representative of the Kauri Timber Company, returns to Auckland by tho AVaikare to-morrow.
Mr E. AV. Puslcy, late Collector of Customs, was yesterday the recipiont of a case of silver-mounted pipes and an address from the wharf laborers, carters, and others connected with the local shipping. The importers and exporters of the district intend to present Mr E. W. Pasloy, late Collector of Customs, with an exceedingly beautiful gold watch and chain, suitably inscribed, as well as an illuminated address. The presentation will be made to Mr I’asley prior to his departure for the South to-morrow. The funeral of the late Mrs Jamieson took place yesterday afternoon, and was very largely attended. Tho Bov. .J. G. Paterson conducted a short service at the residence of Mr F. M. l’crry, and delivered a brief address to those present. Mr Paterson also conducted the service at the graveside. The hymn “For Fiver AVith the Ford’’ was sung, and addresses were ■delivered by Messrs AV. Barron and H. j Lang, the service concluding with a prayer ; ■offered by Mr Campbell Thomson and the singing of the Doxologv. The coffin was covered with a large number of wreaths, including one sent by tho Christian Endeavor Society. The funeral of the late Mr John Morris, son of Mr AVilliam Morris, of AVaihora, To Karaka, took place yesterday afternoon at ■the Makaraka cemetery. Tho esteem -in which tho young man was held was manifested by the large gathering which assembled at the grave, there being upwards of a hundred and fifty persons present. A number of handsome wreaths were placed on the coffin by sympathetic friends. The chief mourners were deceased's father and two brothers. The service at the gravo was conducted by Captain Sharp, of the Salvation Army Corps, addresses being delivered by Lieutenant Hill and Bros. jVTcKinistry and Wilkinson. Air AAffllinm Morris, father of deceased, also spoke, with ■deep feeling. A memorial service is to be held at tho Army Barracks on Sunday evening.
