ANNUAL DEMONSTRATIONS IN NEW SOUTH WALES. A REGULAR HOLIDAY TO BE OBSERVED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Aug. 5. In future the first Monday of August will be known as friendly societies’ day, and will be observed as a holiday. The societies’ annual demonstrations today were largely attended. The Premier, in the course of a speech, promised legislation dealing with thff rules, and strengthening the position’or friendly societies.
