Canada, anxious for the consummation of the great Imperial project, has waived the objection raised by her in connection with the Pacific cable. Although still contending that the New South Wales privileges granted to tho Eastern Extension Company are inimical to the future prospects of the Pacific scheme, Canada promulgates ai \ct passed last session dealing with the cable, and announces her readiness to pay fivefifteenths of the cost.
