Lord Roberts.
THE MONEY GRANT. By Telegraph—Press Association. London, Aug. 1. Mr Balfour, in a remarkably felicitous speech, eulogised Lord Roberts’ bold, original strategy. Without his courage, foresight, and promptitude the country would have suffered much humiliation, ami loss of prestige. Sir 11. Campbell Bannormau admitted the country's deep debt of gratitude to Lord Roberts. Mr Dillon and other Nationalists, Mr Labouchcrc and a few extreme Radicals assailed Lord Roberts.
The closure was ultimately applied, and the grant passed by 281 to 2i!. Sir Campbell Bannerman, Sir AY. V. llareourt, and all tho leading Oppositionists voted with tho Government. The minority consisted of Nationalists and fourteen Radicals. London, Aug. 2. Tho Lords concurred in the grant to Lord Roberts, Lord Salsbnry and Earl Spencer eulogising his services.
