STOCK SALES.
BRISK BIDDING,
Monthly stock sales were held yesterday at the Waerenga-a-hika yards, the weather holding lino until after the sale had been concluded. Messrs Common, Shelton, and Co. (for whom Mr J. B. Kells officiated as auctioneer) report that they had a yarding of 80 head of cattle, mostlyyoung stock of very good quality. “ The bidding was brisk, and all our entries were cleared at satisfactory prices, as follows : —Spring ing heifers, £i 5s to £5 7s Od ; 2j--ycar-o|d stoers, £'> 7s 6d; 20-month to 2-year-old steers, £4 10s to £-t 17s 6d ; cows with calves at foot, £o 5s ; empty cows and heifers of good quality, £4 to £4 5s ; ditto, inferior, £2 10s to £i os; weaners, mixed sexes, £2 12s 6d; Jersey weauer steers, £l. There were no entries of sheep or pigs. Our next monthly sale takes place on August 29.” . | A capital luncheon was provided by Mr McConnell.
