By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, last night. In view of the Grand National Meeting ami tho Hunt Club Mooting, a largo number of horses were exercised this morning. Social Pest and Straybird were together for two rounds’ schooling at the fences, both jumping well. The former takes to cross-country nicely. Right Metal fell at tho first jump, but afterwards covered two rounds, showing fair form at the fences. The Needle and Opaku jumped the hurdles, the former giving a clover display. Patroclus, Derriugcottc, Surprise, Dunbrown, Larboard Watch, Hairtrigger, and Natation also jumped well. Benzoin and Dandas did a strong 7 furlongs on the cinders, tho Yaldhurst three- and two-
year-olds, with Skobelelf and St. Michael, on the tracks, doing useful exercise. Amongst the horses doing steady pacing are Sant Ilario, Strathnairn, Magnificent, Hotu, Sundial, Lady Dundas, Glonaladale, Zither, Marina, Oyster, Long Tom, and Daisy Chain.
