Pitt,' of the Manchester Regiment, have been awarded the Victoria Cross for holding a sangar and fighting foodless and waterless for fifteen hours at Caesar’s Camp on the 6th of January. The Boers attacked the refugee camp at Aliwal, hut wore repulsed. Details of the capture of Latigan's ■ laager show that 90 of Colonel Lukin’s Capo Rifles followed the track of a stolen cart across the veldt, ultimately locating their hiding place and defeating 150 oftho enemy. Lieutenant Webby, with twelve men, was trying to outflank Latigan on a .ridge, when lie was confronted by forty Boors, who killed one and wounded four. Lieutenant Webby held the position Labours until the guns arrived, scattering his opponents.
COMMANDO IN PORTUGUESE TERRITORY.

London. July 30. A Boer commando, accompanied by women and children, have entered Portuguese territory near the livers Limpopo and Pafurie. Troop- have been sent to disarm them.
