Wellington defeated Wairarapa by 14 points to 8. The ground was sloppy, and tho weather drizzly. It was a forward game, but the Wellington backs came with several scoring runs. Wallace played a fine three-quarter game. lie ob ■ tained two tries and converted one, and also kicked a penalty goal. Burr scored a try. Tiie Wairarapa forwards were a dashing lot. - The backs did some good line kicking, but there was no combination. J. McKenzie and Armstrong scored tries, one being converted by E. McKenzie. E.
