[By Telegraph Brass Association.] Wellington, last night. Tho first day’s racing of the Wellington liacing Club’s Winter Meeting was held to-day under most favorable circumstances. The weather was perfect, and tho course in capital order. Tho attendance was much above tho average, and the totalisator receipts showed an increase of X 2931 as compared with the first day of last year's winter meeting. Tho following arc tlie results ; Maiden Steeplechase : Nipapu 1, Gobo 2, Mangateraii. Scrached : Perseverance, Ngatihuia. Won by sis lengths. Ilutana and llemnoro fell. Time, -1.2.1. JDivs., Nipapu X 3 2s, Gobo 17s. Stewards' Handicap: Jabber 1. Ostialc 2, Stopniak ,'i. Scratched : Sundial, Tukapa, Laurcstina. Won by two lengths, half a length between second and third. Time, 1.3-1. l)ivs., Jabber X I 19s, Ostiak XI Is.
Maiden Hack : Snooze 1, Moor 2, Bonne Ksperanec 5. Scratched : Woodlcigh, Teamster, J.ass, Indiana, Forward Guard, Insurgent, Shelter. Won by a nose; a great finish. Time, 1.22 .”-5 secs. Divs., Snooze XI 17s, Moor Xf> (is. Winter Hurdles: llotu 1, Pcrringcotte 2, ltodara .'l. All started. Won by two lengths, a neck between second and third. Time, 4.5.
