A NOVEL CASE.
OYSTER MAN AND GROCER. [By Telegraph Press Association.] Wellington, last night. A novel ease came before tho Stipendiary Magistrate to-day. It appears that a firm of grocers received continuous complaints about orders sent by telephone not being fulfilled. Enquiries were made, and it was allogod that the discovery was mado that clients were sometimes being switched on to an oyster dealer. Tho lattor was said to have been in tho habit of replying that 110 was the grocor. Ho took the orders and said no inoro about them. Plaintiff claimed £1 19s damages for misuse of telephone. After a long argument plaintiff was nonsuited, and tho Magistrate expressed tho opinion that tho oyster man may liavo been annoyed by tho constant mistakes in telephonic connection and answered in tho way stated.
